Wanted to share some news from one of my favorite local bookstores. We wish them a safe move and look forward to joining them at their new location.
I am both sad and happy to announce that Quail Ridge Books will be moving to a new location in North Hills Shopping Center in the spring of 2016. We worked diligently for over a year to reach a mutually acceptable lease renewal in our current location, but we were unable to come to an agreement. While we are sad to leave this neighborhood, we are also very excited to be moving to North Hills and for the opportunities that location will offer. We won’t be moving far away and we hope each of you will make the move with us. We have plans to open a beautiful store there and have every intention of keeping the heart, soul, and DNA of Quail Ridge Books alive and well at North Hills.
Our store’s founder, Nancy Olson, said, “I’m so pleased that the Quail Ridge Books’ tradition of quality books and great service will continue in an exciting new space. This is a great opportunity for growing the store’s customer base of passionate readers.”
Margaret Maron, author and long time friend of the store, stated “As it is for oh, so many North Carolina writers from the Triad to the coast, QRB is my lifeline of support and friendship—from the owners down to the newest sales clerk. Selfishly, I shall miss having QRB on Wade Avenue, but I’m sure my car will soon learn the way to North Hills.”
Our plans are to vacate Ridgewood Shopping Center in March and open in the Lassiter District at North Hills at the beginning of April. The exact location will be announced soon; for ongoing updates, please visit our website here. We’ll keep you posted!
And, as always, thank you for your loyalty and your continued support.
