If you’re a fan of Funko POP! figures, movies, television, or just about anything pop culture, Funko Hollywood is a pretty amazing place to explore. We stopped in during our Los Angeles adventure and had an absolute blast.
Located right on Hollywood Boulevard, Funko Hollywood is much more than a toy store. The 40,000-square-foot flagship location opened in 2019 and is packed with larger-than-life characters, themed displays, and photo opportunities around practically every corner. It’s part retail store, part pop culture museum, and part playground for fans of all ages.
From Star Wars and Disney to Marvel and countless other characters, the store is filled with familiar faces and some pretty incredible displays. Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s worth walking through just to see everything. And with free admission, it’s a pretty fantastic Hollywood attraction.
Of course, we weren’t leaving empty-handed.
One of the coolest experiences is POP! Yourself, where you can create a personalized Funko POP! figure. You choose the hairstyle, clothing, accessories, and other details to build your own little collectible. We decided to get POP’d — or more accurately, Tanner POP’d himself!
Watching him make the choices and create his own figure was a lot of fun. And getting to take home a custom Funko POP! from Hollywood made for a pretty awesome souvenir.
Another bonus was the location. We were staying at the Magic Castle Hotel, and Funko Hollywood was within walking distance, making it an easy addition to our time exploring the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
We spent a lot of time looking around, taking pictures, and enjoying the creativity that went into the entire place. There’s so much to see that it’s hard to know where to look next.
Funko Hollywood is absolutely worth visiting, whether you’re a serious collector or just enjoy pop culture. The store itself is an attraction, and the POP! Yourself experience makes it even more memorable. We had a blast, and Tanner came home with a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
