Myrtle Beach SkyWheel

The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel offers a one-of-a-kind experience, whether you’re riding during the day or at night. Opened in 2011, this 187-foot observation wheel has quickly become an iconic feature of the Myrtle Beach skyline, providing stunning views of the ocean, the boardwalk, and beyond. Riding during the day offers panoramic vistas of the Atlantic, while nighttime brings a dazzling light show across the wheel’s LED lights. We were amazed to see that awesome area at night, an experience enhanced by the quiet off-season atmosphere.

The SkyWheel is equipped with 42 glass-enclosed, temperature-controlled gondolas, ensuring a comfortable ride for all seasons, and the overall design is reminiscent of the world’s great observation wheels, adding a modern touch to Myrtle Beach’s historic boardwalk.

Historically, Ferris wheels have been symbols of engineering and amusement since the original wheel debuted at the 1893 World’s Fair. The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, though much newer, honors this tradition by offering a modern take on the classic Ferris wheel design, with an added light show that makes it a spectacle of its own, especially during the evening.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing ride with daytime views or the spectacle of a lit-up skyline at night, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is a must-see on your trip to the Grand Strand.
