If you thought this post was going to feature some far-off, larger-than-life destination like Beijing, Dubai, or even Texas (where everything is famously “bigger”), you’d be wrong. The World’s Largest McDonald’s is located right here in America’s vacation capital — Orlando, Florida.
We stopped by this 19,000-square-foot monument to fast food on a recent trip, and while its sheer size was impressive, what really stood out was the unique menu. Beyond the typical new releases and childhood favorites, this McDonald’s serves pizza, pasta, and even a surprisingly decent cheesesteak.
But it’s more than just a restaurant. There’s an expansive PlayPlace, tons of arcade games, and decor celebrating McDonald’s history — including a life-sized Mac Tonight (the moon-faced crooner from the 1980s commercials).
We sampled a few of the non-traditional menu items, and they were pretty good. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again, but if you’re nearby, it’s absolutely worth a stop. The PlayPlace was large but thoughtfully designed, giving parents peace of mind while kids played mostly unsupervised. Even with the restaurant packed, service was fast and efficient. No, they aren’t winning a James Beard Award anytime soon — but for McDonald’s? This was a good one.
The highlight of our visit was dessert. In addition to the usual offerings, there were some welcome surprises. We ordered the Peanut Butter Explosion Cake — and it lived up to the name. Honestly, if you visit, you might want to skip straight to dessert.
Final verdict? Worth a stop if you’re in the area — but don’t plan a trip just for this. The nostalgia is fun (when was the last time you thought about the “Mac Tonight” jingle?), but at the end of the day, it’s still McDonald’s — just bigger. If you do find yourself here, order the pizza and the Peanut Butter Explosion Cake. You won’t regret it — or at least not any more than you would eating regular McDonald’s.
