Culinary Village #chswff

The Culinary Village at Charleston Wine and Food Festival is referred to as the “heart and soul of CHSWFF”. It is a foodie adventure where you can explore the various bites and sips. I love this event because it gives you a little bit of everything. The event is held at Marion Square which is located right in the center of downtown Charleston.

The square is divided up into neighborhoods to explore. You will find an Artisan Market (buy all the things), a beer garden (drink all the drinks), a corkyard (savor all the sips), the main stage (see all the great talent), and the hub where you can visit with food and beverage exhibitors from around the country.

Every year the festival gets bigger and better and this year was no exception. I had a few favorite highlights from this year’s festival. Each year you get to see lots of great chefs on the main stage.

We got to see Al Roker on stage with Jocelyn Delk Adams, author of Grandbaby Cakes. They made a beautiful shortcake that was amazing!!!

We also got to catch up with Lionel Vatinet from LaFarm. Did somebody say white chocolate baguettes? So good.

Other local favs included meeting Melissa Katrincic from Durham Distillery. They make small batch gin and we got to try their newest creations – canned cocktails. Ok y’all these things are so good. The cucumber vodka and soda is a club soda and their Cold Distilled Cucumber Flavored Vodka. The other can cocktail they have is their gin and tonic. It is made with their house-made tonic, Conniption gin and lemon, orange and lime. I envision enjoying these by the pool this summer. They are light and extremely refreshing. They are also coming out with a Rose so stay tuned!

As always we had a blast enjoying all the food and fun that comes with the festival. It runs 2 days- Friday and Saturday and is guaranteed to be a great time.
