On occasion 919raleigh.com goes exploring. Last weekend we went to downtown Apex. Apex is known as the peak of good living and it has a wonderful downtown. We had lunch at the Blistered Pig (more on that here). We also did a little shopping at Apex Outfitter (more on that here) the Rusty Bucket and the Doodling Bug. We even stopped by the local bottle shop, the Beer Dispensary.
About Downtown Apex:
“Founded in the 1860’s, the Town got its name from a location at the highest point on the old Chatham Railroad. Downtown Apex, considered one of the most intact turn-of-the-century railroad towns in the area, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an Historic District in 1994, and includes about 60 structures built between 1870 and 1940.”
I loved the variety of restaurants and shops to visit. This was the perfect street to enjoy a relaxing day eating, drinking and shopping. This downtown had something for everyone. When we go back we will make sure to check out the bakery and coffee shop! #downtownapexnc
