Congratulations to Raleigh Food and Wine Festival for another successful year. The festival is a four day culinary adventure in Raleigh. The line up had lots of great Raleigh spots including Plates, lucettegrace, The Wine Feed, Mandolin, Capital Club 16, Mulino, Whole Foods, H-Street, and Pinetop Distillery.
This year we went to the Whole Foods Market for a Friday evening “Pig Pickin’ with Fullsteam Brewery”. We sat on the patio and enjoyed music from Hearts & Daggers. What we had to eat:
- Smoked Local Whole Hog Pork from Jones Family Farm in Burgaw, NC with Paycheck Pilsner BBQ Sauce
- Roasted Potato Salad with Fearrington Spring Saison Vinaigrette
- Coleslaw with Creamy Humidity Pale Ale Dressing
- Grilled Peach with Mascarpone Cream & Honey made with Moccasin Creek Muscadine Ale
We also attended the Tasting event on Sunday. We love the tasting event because there is always so much food to enjoy. And did I mention the drinks? There is also plenty of great drinks to wash it all down. The event was held at the Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar in Downtown Raleigh, which is the perfect setting for the Raleigh Food and Wine Festival.
The date isn’t set yet for 2018 but they are aiming for the weekend in between Mother’s Day and Memorial Weekend again. Hope to see you there next year.
