I am a huge fan of Roots. They have the best hummus out there. I was first introduced to their product through the LoMo Market and have been a fan ever since. When visiting Asheville I was able to stop by their store to see the production.

What I learned about Roots during my visit. They produce 2,000 – 3,000 pounds of hummus a week. That is a whole lot of beans! Those beans go into a giant food processor that processes 80 lbs in approximately 10 minutes. They run production 4 days a week and have approximately 25 staff members.  They use Fresh Point Food Distributors to get the freshest and most local ingredients.

If you aren’t familiar with Roots, they have many different types of hummus, but their original is their best seller.  My fav is the Thai Coconut hummus. It has a delicious tropical flavor. My second fav is Mango Sriracha. It is sweet with a bit of heat.
