The Golden Gate Bridge is a steel suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. You can’t really appreciate the size of the bridge until you see it in person – in a word – it is huge. Anyway – the pictures are better than anything I could write about it. The first time you see it you pause because it is really a lot larger than you would have anticipated.
We visited the bridge in the late afternoon / early evening and got some really good sunset shots. We walked about halfway across the bridge and came back because we didn’t want to risk getting locked on the far side (the bridge closes early in the fall/winter). The bridge is stunning and even more so when you consider it was completed in 1937.
Great pictures!! Love the close ups. All taken w/the powershot?
Yes – all taken with the SD790. Great camera. I’ll have more pictures posted soon.
