We visited a sea turtle nest (Rieman Children – Nest #18) that had 118 turtles head into the sea the night before. This was a dig where any hatched but unable to escape or unhatched turtle would be released from the nest. Fortunately, all the little sea turtles made it out of the nest minus a couple of eggs that didn’t make the cut. It is great that these volunteers make sure that as many turtles as possible make it out to the ocean so they have the best chance for survival.
