It is always fun to ride a monorail – outside of Disneyland and Disney World, they barely exist. The nation’s first full-scale commercial monorail system which provides a fun, quick and convenient link between downtown Seattle and Seattle Center.

The Monorail has been a Seattle icon since the 1962 World’s Fair. Today, the trains carry approximately 2 million passengers every year. The monorail has become an important fixture in Seattle for locals, who use the trains during major festivals and sporting events.
There was an awesome robot made from monorail parts at the Seattle Center appropriately named Trainus Prime. While this was clearly more for visitors to the city than residents it was awesome to think this could be a possible regular form of transportation at some point in the future.
