Happy Easter! On our last trip to Walt Disney World, we overlapped with the Grand Floridian’s annual Easter Egg Display at the Grand Cottage in the lobby of the resort. The display includes 20 Chocolate Egg Showpieces made of 340 pounds of chocolate, 22 pounds of fondant, and 15 colors of cocoa butter. These aren’t your average Easter eggs—each one is a sculpted masterpiece themed after Disney movies and characters, with intricate edible details that are almost too impressive to believe. (Definitely too impressive to eat.)
This year’s display included nods to Inside Out, Snow White, Cinderella, Zootopia, Beauty and the Beast, Expedition Everest, The Haunted Mansion, Toy Story, Tarzan, Orange Bird, the Maleficent float, Steamboat Willie, Dumbo, Brother Bear, a couple of character compilations and, my favorite Scrooge McDuck from Duck Tales all beautifully reimagined in sugar and chocolate.
