If you’re heading to Charlotte with kids, Discovery Place is an absolute must-see. During a recent visit to the Queen City, we took Tanner for his first experience at this amazing science and nature museum, and he had a blast. It’s the perfect spot for curious minds of all ages!
From aquariums to a hands-on touch pool, there’s so much to explore. The museum features lab spaces where kids can get hands-on with microscopes, diving deep into the world of science. But one of the highlights for us was the indoor rainforest—it’s like stepping into the jungle, complete with lush greenery and fascinating creatures.
We were also lucky enough to catch a special exhibit, “Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall,” which dives into the inspiring life of primatologist Jane Goodall. It was both educational and deeply moving. If you’re into art, you’ll love their rotating installations too—when we visited, there was a stunning art display of images of the moon that left us in awe.
Discovery Place’s mission is to innovate and inspire, and it shows. Every exhibit is designed to spark curiosity and creativity in both kids and adults. We’ll be back!
