We recently experienced this first-hand, and let’s start with the biggest pro: it’s free! If you’ve never visited one of Disney’s water parks, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore Blizzard Beach without spending extra on tickets. With its snow-capped mountain theme and classic water park thrills, it’s one of the most unique water park experiences around.
Now for the con: you’re not the only one who thinks free is awesome. The park was very busy, with lots of resort guests taking advantage of the promotion. It was so popular that the Blizzard Beach parking lot filled up, and guests were directed to park at Animal Kingdom and take a shuttle to the water park. A bit of a hassle, but not a dealbreaker.
Despite the crowds, we had a great time. The attractions had long lines, but the lazy river was the highlight. It’s the longest one we’ve been on, and it delivered on both relaxation and entertainment. Floating through caves, waterfalls, and scenic snowy (but sunny!) backdrops was the perfect way to unwind after a busy park day.
Final Thoughts: If you can swing it, start your trip with a splash at Blizzard Beach (or Typhoon Lagoon).
