Hopscotch Music Festival

The Hopscotch Music Festival returned to Raleigh this week, bringing the city to life with an electric mix of sounds and energy. This annual event showcases a diverse range of music genres, from indie rock and hip-hop to electronic and experimental sounds. Launched in 2010, it has grown into one of the Southeast’s premier music festivals, attracting both emerging artists and well-established acts.

One of my favorite parts of the event are the day parties. These are held at various locations throughout downtown Raleigh and offer a more intimate way to experience the festival vibe. This year, we made our way to Slim’s to catch George Huntley from The Connells, a local favorite band from the 80s. The laid-back atmosphere of the day parties makes them a perfect spot to discover new talent or reconnect with familiar sounds while exploring some of Raleigh’s coolest venues.

Spanning multiple days and various downtown venues, including outdoor stages, clubs, and theaters, Hopscotch offers a vibrant, immersive experience for music lovers. With its eclectic lineup, the festival emphasizes creativity and discovery, turning Raleigh into a hub for musical innovation each September.

Whether you’re a seasoned festival-goer or a newcomer to the scene, Hopscotch provides the perfect opportunity to dive into a wide spectrum of music, support local talent, and soak in the dynamic cultural landscape of Raleigh. The energy is contagious, the talent is top-notch, and the sense of community is something you won’t want to miss.

Until next year, Hopscotch!
