We got to take a look into the new Residence Inn Marriott Raleigh Downtown. They are still working on putting the finishing touches on everything but this hotel is going to be great when it opens.
The Residence Inn is known as an extended stay hotel. Their slogan is “It’s not a room. It’s a Residence”. Because they are extended-stay they offer amenities that you might find at home like a kitchenette and sofas. They also feature complimentary breakfast and a state-of-the-art fitness facility. They can even go grocery shopping for you.
The downtown Raleigh location is just 80 steps away from the convention center and has 175 rooms. The rooms are about 500 square feet. One of the things I love is the images of Raleigh locations that you will find in the room. Pictures of the museums and of City Market are a great way to welcome folks to Raleigh. They also offer free wifi which is important for people to stay connected while traveling.
How about the stunning views? You can see lots of things from the hotel rooms depending on where you are staying. Here are a few of the highlights- the convention center, the Red Hat Amphitheater, Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and you can even spot Raleigh’s iconic Acorn.
One of the special spaces is going to be the bar called the Terrace on Tenth. It has an outdoor patio space which overlooks the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts. I envision grabbing a drink there before a show. Who is with me?
The hotel has 2 available street-level spaces. They hope to have a sit-down restaurant and more of a coffee/juice or quick sandwich spot.
