Did you know there is a secret bee garden behind Big Boss Brewery? There is a pollinator garden with plants that attract bees. Apiopolis, that got everything established hosted a hive opening demonstration as part of Second Saturday this weekend. Apiopolis is a nonprofit urban bee sanctuary conservation and Second Saturday is a once a month celebration of local food and community.
We learned lots about bees while visiting Big Boss Brewery. Here are a few fun facts. It takes 60,000 bees to create 5 gallons of honey. Drone bees do not sting.
