Split Pea Soup
Ingredients
- 1lb Dried Green Split Peas (Rinsed)
- 2 Carrots (Medium / Diced)
- 2 Celery Stalks (Medium / Diced)
- 1/2 Onion (Medium / Diced)
- 2 cloves Garlic (Medium / Minced)
- 1 Meaty Ham Bone or 2 Ham Hocks (About 1 Pound)
- 4 cups Low-sodium Chicken or Vegetable Broth
- 2 cups Water
- Salt (To Taste)
- Pepper (To Taste)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Lay the dried split peas in the bottom of the crock-pot. | |

Add a layer of carrots, onion and celery. | |

Add the garlic. | |

Add your ham bone. | |
Step 5 | |
Pour your chicken broth and water. | |

Turn the slow cooker on high and cook for 5 to 6 hours or low for 8 to 10 hours. |
