Whether you call it Peach Bottom Falls or Powerhouse Falls this little waterfall off the beaten path in Independence, VA is a great short hike with an amazing view. The name and history is a little spotty online but it looks like this was a hydro-electric power plant at some point. You can see some of the foundations of the plant still on the side of the fall.
We did a little flying and a little hiking – this place looks great from the air and the ground. Thanks to Carter for telling us about this. I’ve added a map so you can find it too – if you happen to be in the area.
