This is from our first stop in Normandy and the home to the two stain glass windows I posted earlier. The story here revolved largely around the first village to be freed on D-Day and the heroics of John Steele – the paratrooper memorialized on the roof of the church where he landed. Many more to come from Normandy.
We were told the marker below was originally a marker on one of the many roads to Rome when this area was part of the Roman Empire. It was co-opted into part of the church square with the addition of the cross.
