Perot Museum of Nature and Science

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science located in Victory Park, near Downtown Dallas is said to be a “world of wonder” by The Dallas Morning News. Passing the test of school children, inspiring curiosity in all ages and boasting as a living science lesson, this new Museum opened its doors to the public on December 1, 2012. Get ready to amaze your brain through hands-on learning experiences.

The Perot Museum is fascinating from the outside. It is almost like the entire museum rose from the ground like something in a science fiction movie. From the inside, it is an interactive and fun museum that focuses on Texas from the big bang, to dinosaurs, to weather, fossil fuels and minerals (more dinosaurs) and then to the rest of the physical world. Fairly similar to a lot of science museums with the exception of the fossil fuels section which is a large part of Texas’ natural history. The trip to the fourth floor to start your tour starts with a long escalator ride that provides some great views of the downtown Dallas area. Overall I thought it was a great stop on the trip. If you are in town and have the time I would suggest going especially if you have late elementary to middle school-aged kids with you. A lot of the activity is designed for that age group which made it perfect for us.
