For more than two decades, La Farm Bakery has been a destination for artisan breads, pastries, and European-inspired café fare. Now, the beloved Raleigh institution is giving guests another reason to linger a little longer.
La Farm Bakery has officially launched its first full streetside bar program at its Creekside Crossing location, marking a significant milestone in the bakery’s 26-year history. Located at 404 East Six Forks Road, the new concept, known as “La Bar,” introduces a curated selection of wines, cocktails, local beers, and shareable plates designed to complement the bakery’s signature offerings.
During a recent visit, we sampled several items from the new menu, including the Tangy Carolina BBQ Wings, Crispy Sourdough Crusted Shrimp Bites, fries, and one of La Farm’s Neapolitan-inspired pizzas. The wings offered a flavorful balance of smoky sweetness and tangy Carolina barbecue sauce, while the shrimp bites delivered a satisfying crunch thanks to the bakery’s signature sourdough coating. The pizza showcased the craftsmanship La Farm is known for, featuring a light, airy crust with excellent texture and flavor. The fries rounded out the meal perfectly and made for an easy shareable side.
The beverage menu proved equally impressive. I opted for the Peach Rum Margarita, a refreshing summer cocktail that combined fruit-forward sweetness with a smooth rum finish. Anthony chose the classic Bloody Mary and found it to be a well-balanced, savory companion to the appetizers.
La Bar’s beverage program includes family-owned French wines curated by Durham’s Queen of Wines, along with local draft selections from Trophy Brewing. Guests can also enjoy cocktails ranging from approachable classics like Mimosas and Bloody Marys to French-inspired creations such as the La Marguerite and Negroni Saint-Germain.
One particularly appealing aspect of the new concept is its affordability. Wine bottles are available for purchase between $17 and $30, with no corkage fee when enjoyed onsite. Happy Pairings specials also make it easy to enjoy a complete experience, featuring combinations such as Wings and Draft Beer or Pizza paired with beer or wine.
With its combination of artisan baking, thoughtfully crafted cocktails, local beers, and shareable plates, La Farm’s new bar program feels like a natural evolution of a Raleigh favorite. Whether stopping in for a glass of wine, gathering with friends over pizza and wings, or simply enjoying a handcrafted cocktail after work, guests now have even more ways to experience one of the city’s most beloved bakeries.
