Some places make a strong first impression before you even order. That was Saray Bakery & Patisserie in Myrtle Beach. We stopped in to try a couple of pastries and immediately had the feeling that we could have pointed at almost anything in the case and been happy.
We tried two of the filled croissants — strawberry and cookie — and both were outstanding. The croissants had that perfect bakery-case drama: flaky, pretty, filled generously, and just indulgent enough to make it feel like vacation. The strawberry was bright and sweet, while the cookie version was richer and more dessert-like in the best way.
What stood out most was how hard it was to choose. Everything looked amazing. Cakes, pastries, breads, desserts — the kind of display that makes you slow down and start negotiating with yourself about how many things are reasonable to order.
Saray is exactly the kind of stop we love finding on a trip: not fussy, not overhyped in the moment, just genuinely good and immediately memorable. It is a perfect Myrtle Beach morning stop, afternoon treat, or “we should grab something for later” kind of place.
A must-try in Myrtle Beach. Get the filled croissants, but leave room to be tempted by everything else.
