Chef Vivian Howard visits the Durham Museum of Life and Science

Chef Vivian Howard owns the Chef & the Farmer restaurant in Kinston, North Carolina. She also has a following thanks to her television show on PBS, A Chef’s Life. This week she will travel to the Triangle for a Meet the Chef event at the Durham Museum of Life and Science.

Guests will enjoy a reception with wine and light hors d’oeuvres.  There will also be an opportunity for Q & A. Attendees will receive a signed copy of Chef Howard’s new cookbook upon the release in October. Your ticket will also get you into the sold out Science of Eats event. The Science of Eats event is described as sweet, sour, and science together for one grand night of eating and exploration. There will be local food vendors on hand with samples and local universities sharing the latest in food science research.indexHere is a list of the local food vendors you will be able to visit with: NC Soy Bean Producers Assoc., Juju, Big Spoon Roasters, Joe Van Gogh, Little Dipper, Mystic Bourbon, Fair Game Beverage Co., Videri Chocolate, Palace International, Chez Moi, Mt. Olive Pickles, NC Pickle Festival, Two Chicks Farm, Brood Soda, Videri Chocolate, Fair Game Beverage Co., Bull CIty Ciderworks, Melina’s Fresh Pasta, Goat Lady Dairy, Abundance NC, Nello’s Sauce, Triangle Seafood Market, Crude Bitters, Starrlight Mead, Sama Spread, and BFR Wines.

There will be only 80 tickets sold to the Meet the Chef event so it should be a really nice experience for fans of Chef Vivian Howard. Tickets can be purchased here and money raised from this event benefits the Museum’s conservation and education initiatives.
