Everyone assumes that if you have a cat like Randy he is the only porcelain cat you need. That may be true but it doesn’t mean that another cat may not need you. Such is the case of our friend Orlando. He spends a lot of time collecting change at the house and we decided he needed an adventure in Durham.
For Orlando’s first excursion into the Bull City we took him to the Fullsteam Brewery to hear Eric’s band The Mercators play (merCATors perhaps?). Orlando took full advantage of his night on the town sampling beers with names like Carver Sweet Potato Lager, Fullsteam Carolina Common, Hogwash Hickory-smoked Porter and the Workingman’s Lunch MoonPie Stout. He also met a red bull (we later learned it was a yak), played a little Foosball, met the band and chased some tail. (Seriously – all the pictures are after the jump.)
From what we could tell he was pretty happy doing a little traveling and we’re likely to take him out more now that we know he won’t run away (or get asked to leave – looking at you Jolly Roger). The beer was pretty good – probably wouldn’t have the Hickory-smoked Porter again – still have the taste of bacon in my mouth. I liked the band – they didn’t play a long set but it was good. Overall – not a bad evening out for Orlando.
