And now for the main event… or at least the primary reason we flew across the country – The Inaugural Avengers Half Marathon and completion of the Disney Coast-to-Coast Challenge. The race was great just a little windy out there but otherwise nice, flat and fun. It was great seeing the Avengers out on the course minus the Hulk and one metal hero that will go unnamed. Here are some of the pictures from the race. We ran through both parks but the sun peaked over the horizon as we made our way through Disneyland. Many of the mile markers were missing due to the strong winds but where they were still standing we took some pictures.
As we were running we saw Dr. Dribble who we recognized from Raleigh’s Rock’n’Roll Marathon. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a pic of him while we were running but he was still dribbling two basketballs and keeping a faster pace than we were. Great experience – I would definitely do it again. (Maybe – at least the trip to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar after the race.)
