I know – it has taken me a while to get the pictures from our San Francisco trip up. I took close to 1000 pictures with my new Canon SD790 and it is taking longer than I would have thought to sort through them all.
Here are the pictures from the night tour we did of Alcatraz Island. I was very impressed – I knew that not many prisoners were housed here and the ones that were the worst of an era – I don’t know if I really expected something bigger or smaller but when we got there what I saw defied expectation. I highly recommend this as a stop if you visit San Francisco. It is an awesome place run by the National Park Service – free to tour but you do have to purchase tickets on the ferry to get there. The place is much as it was when prisoners were there with many of the buildings beyond any state of repair.
