Downtown Raleigh Alliance has started doing Discover Downtown Tours monthly where guests explore the fun spaces in and around downtown.
This month guests got to check out the Rainbow building which is located at 911 North West Street. The building used to be the Rainbow Upholstery and Furniture Company. The space has been renovated and now is the home of many businesses.
It was great to see how they were able to take the building and breathe new life into it. One of the offices had kept the orignal wood floors and you could see where a worker had dropped an iron on the floor. They also have a graffiti mural on the back of the building that is super cool. They did not change it when they renovated the space. I love that they kept the character of the building.
The new food additions that are on their way are to the buidling are The Layered Croissant and The Rainbow Luncheonette. The Rainbow Luncheonette is from the Cardinal owners Jason Howard and Dan Murphy and the Layered Croissant will be a bake shop from Mark and Kawsar Chavez.
The tours are a great way to explore downtown Raleigh. You check out upcoming tours on the Downtown Raleigh Alliance page.
