We happened to be downtown this morning and caught this – the supposed Coronation of McCrory’s Puppet Master: Welcome Shadow Governor Art Pope or some guy in a crudely created Art Pope mask mumbling something. At the time I wasn’t exactly sure what was going on and just snapped a picture as I walked by. When I sat down and looked at the picture later I started putting pieces together and with a little Google-fu found this Facebook event. Not sure what the point was or where the people in their pictures that are holding signs came from or went to. We walked past as the “event” appeared to be in full swing and this was it. I guess spoofing the Governor is better left to Twitter.
I don’t have an opinion on whether this is good or bad – I just know that when we get in costume we draw bigger crowds.
