Just unveiled at the Raleigh Convention Center is a new crocheted acrylic yarn mural of Nina Simone. Simone, a North Carolina native, is the muse for this 40′ wide by 20′ high collaborative effort. Led by international crochet artist Olek and Follow Love Across the USA Project over 100 participants in local workshops created a 2′ by 2′ section of the mural. Olek and community members have also created murals celebrating Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Tubman in New York State.
