The Carolina Mudcats are brewing up a big change for the 2019 season as the club announced today that it will re-brand for four nights only as the “Carolina Micro Brews,” paying homage to their Major League affiliate, the Milwaukee Brewers.
We were fortunate to get out to the ballpark when weather was questionable at best and snag a souvenir Micro Brews replica jersey. There was a good crowd at the game and the 1,200 jerseys went quickly. I wouldn’t call the new look lucky yet – they lost both games of the doubleheader to the Wilmington Blue Rocks. (They only wore the Micro Brews gear in game two.)
The next chance to see the Micro Brews in action will be Thursday May 9th, Thursday June 6th, and Thursday August 1st. No coincidence they are all Thirsty Thursday events. If you want your own Micro Brews hat or shirt they are being sold at the online team store.
