Welcome, Vidrio! What a great addition to Raleigh’s food scene. The restaurant is located in Glenwood South below the Carolina Ale House. They will be opening their doors to the world officially on January 23. We got a chance to take a sneak peek before their opening.
As you walk in, you will notice is that it is a stunning space. The glass on the walls is gorgeous. The ropes hanging from the ceiling make interesting patterns. The wooden tables you eat on are amazing. They thought of every little detail.
Okay, enough about the beautiful space. How about the food? The concept is small plates made for sharing. The food type is Mediterranean and is just as wonderful as the space itself.
What we had to eat:
- Green chickpea hummus
- Prince Edward Island mussels
- Citrus cured olives
- Cheese plate
- Brussels sprouts
- Roasted Fingerling potatoes
- Hanger steak with salsa Verde
- Seared salmon with pistachio pesto
Oh, and did I mention the handcrafted cocktails? I tried a Mediterranean Mule, which was their version of Moscow Mule. It was awesome.
Even though they aren’t open quite yet, you can go ahead and make your reservation now. I think you will agree it was worth the wait.
