Split Pea Soup
Equipment
- 1 Crock Pot
Ingredients
- 1 pound Dried Green Split Peas
- 2 Carrots Medium / Diced
- 2 Celery Stalks Medium / Diced
- ½ Onion Medium / Diced
- 2 clove Garlic Medium / Minced
- 1 Meaty Ham Bone or 2 Ham Hocks About 1 Pound
- 4 cup Low-sodium Chicken or Vegetable Broth
- 2 cup Water
- Salt & Pepper To Taste
Instructions
- Lay the dried split peas in the bottom of the crock-pot.
- Add a layer of carrots, onion and celery.
- Add the garlic.
- Add your ham bone.
- Pour your chicken broth and water.
- Turn the slow cooker on high and cook for 5 to 6 hours or low for 8 to 10 hours.
