Have you had a chance to check out Second Saturday yet? Second Saturday is a once a month celebration of local food and community. Normally they have different events all around food. You will find workshops, volunteer opportunities, specials at local restaurants, and even yoga. Each month normally has a theme. This month was Strawberries and Art.
We really enjoyed this month’s events. We went to the Front Porch Artwalk in the Mordecai/Oakwood community. After picking up some art we went to the Stanbury to grab lunch. The Stanbury had specials for Second Saturday which included tacos with ribeye, salsa verde, cilantro, onion and lime and empanadas with spinach, salsa, crema, cojita and avocado. They also had an amazing Bloody Mary bar.
After lunch we headed to see the hive opening demonstration at Big Boss Brewery. If you are a foodie, you will want to check out the Second Saturday events. Mark your calendar for June 10 which has a theme of Blueberries and Give.
