Once in a while you walk the aisles of your local beer shop and stumble upon something you’ve never heard of from a brewery you’ve never seen. Day 18 is that story. I had never heard of Morgan Ridge Railwalk Brewery & Eatery in Salisbury and was more than pleasantly surprised with their Coconut Cream Ale (6% ABV / 18 IBU). I feel like this may have to be a stop for us the next time we head to the Western part of the state.
If you don’t like overly sweet beers don’t look past this one. Yes – the description makes it sound sweet but it doesn’t go overboard. I don’t know that I would describe it as Pina Colada or Coconut Pie but more old fashioned Coconut candy. A nice stabilized sweetness.
A refreshing tropical, Pina colada nose. Caramel sweetness dances elegantly with heavy coconut notes. Extremely Unique and a huge crowd favorite. Finished 2nd place in 2018 Battle of the Taps at Real McCoy’s in Wake Forest.
