One of my tried and true favorites in Chapel Hill is Crook’s Corner. I love it because it is great Southern food. Bill Smith takes something very familiar and adds his twist on it. We recently went to dinner at Crook’s Corner and here is what we had to eat: Jalapeno-cheddar Hushpuppies (savory w/ our sweet-tart cocktail sauce), Cheese Pork (w/ a Madeira sauce served w/ mashed rutabagas & sautéed leeks & cabbage) and grilled hanger steak (w/ Bourbon Brown Sauce & My Father’s Jerusalem Artichoke Relish served w/ French fries). We ended dinner with some of the best banana pudding I have ever had. I want to know the secret!
If you find yourself in Chapel Hill you must eat at Crook’s Corner.
