On occasion, we find our way to Durham. This week we got to visit the new Common Market spot in Durham. Their Charlotte location has gained recognition for the Best Sandwich and World’s Best Place for a Beer. We were super excited to check them out.
It’s a little bit of a coffee shop/beer shop/deli/gift shop. It literally has something for everyone. And did I mention the Ms. PacMan machine? The space is fun and welcoming. I can see my future self enjoying a beer there on the weekend.
For today though, we grabbed lunch, and here is what we ordered. I ordered the Mother Clucker which is a housemade classic chicken salad, with extra-thick bacon, white American cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a warm croissant. Anthony ordered the Alabama Grider which had grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, housemade tomato jam, housemade Alabama white sauce, red cabbage, and pickles grilled on a hoagie. Oh and don’t forget the chips! Anthony tried the spicy pimento chips and I got the Carolina Kettle Dill chips. And just a FYI – save room for dessert because Parlour Ice Cream is right next door. More about that later.
The sandwiches were great and so were the chips. I really love the Common Market and am so happy they have made their way to the Triangle. You can see why they have been recognized for the Best Sandwich. I can’t wait to get back and enjoy a beer on that great patio!
