OREO has always been at the forefront of creative flavor collaborations, and their latest partnership with Coca-Cola™ is no exception. The Limited-Edition OREO® Coca-Cola™ Cookie features a bold and eye-catching red and black color-blocked design with two unique basecakes—one classic chocolate and one red-colored golden cookie embossed with Coca-Cola® logos. Sandwiched between the basecakes is a smooth, white creme that delivers a Coca-Cola® inspired flavor, complete with popping candies that create a fun “fizzing” sensation.
First Impressions: A Treat for the Senses
Right out of the package, the smell is unmistakably Coca-Cola®—a sweet, nostalgic scent that instantly grabs your attention. The red-and-black design is striking, and the popping candies promise a unique twist on the OREO experience. The initial scent is impressive, setting the stage for what we hoped would be an equally bold flavor.
Taste Test: Sweet, But Missing the Mark
Unfortunately, while the aroma is spot-on, the flavor doesn’t quite live up to the promise. The Coca-Cola® taste is there, but it’s overwhelmingly sweet, which makes it less enjoyable after the first bite. The popping candies do add a fun “fizzing” effect that mimics the sensation of drinking soda, but they also detract from the overall texture, making it hard to imagine eating more than one or two cookies at a time.
Verdict: Fun for a Try, But Not a Classic
While the OREO® Coca-Cola™ Cookie is certainly fun and different, it falls short of greatness. The smell and fizzing sensation are highlights, but the flavor is too sweet and doesn’t have the same crave-worthy quality that other OREO flavors offer. In the end, both OREO and Coca-Cola® might be better enjoyed on their own rather than together in this mash-up.
If you’re curious to try something new, these cookies are worth a taste—but they probably won’t be your go-to snack for bingeable OREO goodness.
