We saw a new deli came into the Tryon Village Shopping Center and decided to pick up some food to go. They are located at 1010 Tryon Village Drive in Cary. Why is it named Mookie’s? Mookie is the owners’ dog and unofficial mascot whose namesake is Mookie Wilson of the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays.
I ordered the hot turkey open sandwich which is served with gravy and fries. Anthony had the hot brisket open sandwich is also served with gravy and fries. This was the perfect meal for a cold winter day. We also shared the Upper West Side Eggrolls and the crispy brussel sprouts. I think my favorite was the eggrolls which were served with pastrami, coleslaw, and honey sriracha. Those were so good!!!!
If you are looking for some authentic deli food make sure to check out Mookie’s.
