Southern Charred opened tonight in Raleigh’s Glenwood South. It’s BBQ and a bar. They have great local beer on draft. We enjoyed a couple of Cigar City’s IPAs. We started with their charred chicken wings. They are buttermilk marinated and smoked wings served with a Alabama white sauce. For dinner I got a pulled chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. The sandwich was served on a potato bun with a bean spread. Anthony opted for the pulled pork, greens and mac and cheese. The dinners also came with hush puppies and butter. The food was great. They had 4 different types of sauces to try with your BBQ. I suggest putting some Tennessee sauce on your mac and cheese. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We loved sitting outside on the patio.
I look forward to going back again soon.
