Gideon’s opened their second location in January in Disney Springs. Their first location was opened in October 2016 in a food hall in Central Florida. Within weeks of opening, they had a cult-like following.
We were so excited to try out their cookies. The cookies are not for the faint of heart. They are 1/2 pound each. One of the signs, when you enter the building, says they have a 6 cookie limit. That’s 3 pounds of cookies.
What we had to eat:
We got a pistachio toffee chocolate cookie. It is a mixture of toffee and chocolate chips with lightly salted pistachios. It is the perfect sweet and salty combo.
A piece of red velvet cake. It is a chocolate cake with red food coloring.
What makes it stand out is that it is a buttermilk-based cake. It has amazing cream cheese frosting and topped with double-baked candied walnuts.
They are amazing. These were truly some of the best treats I have ever had.
Pro-tips:
As soon as you arrive get on the virtual queue. We got there around 4:30 and got our text message around 7:30. Once you get your text message, you can get in line and it was about a 15-minute wait.
The later in the day you go, there will be fewer options. They sell out of flavors during the day so if your heart is set on something specific go early. Though, I am pretty sure you wouldn’t be disappointed in any of the options.
Sadly, they don’t ship but we think the cookies are so good they are worth the trip.
