It’s been a long time since I have visited the Biltmore House and lots have changed. The home of George Vanderbilt built in 1895 and has over 8000 acres of estate to explore.
I started my tour fist thing in the morning and started with the house itself. The Titanic exhibit was going on which was really neat. They had 45 outfits throughout the home from the movie.
I really recommend the audio tour. It is totally worth hearing everything explained to you. They also had live chamber music as you wander through which was lovely.
The house took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get through. After I was done exploring the house, I went to visit the gardens and Biltmore in Bloom. Springtime is special at Biltmore. The gardens are gorgeous. They were designed by Fredrick Olmstead. The tulips were beautiful. You can check out my 360 images here. One of the things that I thought was most impressive was the greenhouse. It is massive and stunning. They have a really cool time-lapse video to check out the gardens.
The gardens and greenhouse took be about a hour. I could have spent more time there but I was hungry and ready to grab a bite to eat. They have lots of different dining options now on the grounds which is great. I grabbed a quick bbq sandwhich from the Courtyard Market. They offer hot dogs, saussages and other lunch selections. It was perfect.
One of the most impressive improvements since I last visited was the Antler Hill Village and Winery. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. They have a tasting room to enjoy wine or you can go on a tour of the winery. There are lots of cute shops to visit like the Antler Hill Outfitters and Traditions. You can also enjoy some ice cream at the Creamery.
If you are looking to visit I say now is your time! They have a new Chihuly exhibit that has just started. We were lucky enough to visit his gallery when we were in Seattle. It was stunning. I can only imagine how beautiful his works will look against the stunning backdrop of the Biltmore.
