When you visit an aquarium or zoo you see the front of the house the display of animals in an environment that fits the expectation one might have of seeing the animal in the wild. It is easy to forget that this area is designed with the end-user in mind and not the animal. The illusion helps you forget that there is a wide array of pumps, tanks, and staff all working behind the scenes to make sure the animals are happy, healthy and comfortable.
We took the Above & Beyond tour after walking through the aquarium. It was amazing to see the exhibits from both sides and what it takes to maintain the illusion for the people while keeping the animals in top physical condition. This is a great facility and I would highly encourage you to visit and go on the Above & Beyond tour. It was a lot of fun and a great way to beat the heat for a little while at the beach.
