I got to see Idina Mendel at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh this week. I had the good fortune of seeing her in New York in her Broadway performance of Wicked so I was super excited to see her again. I loved her show. She is an amazing singer and has terrific musicians backing her up. She played Defying Gravity and Let it Go for the Frozen fans, but what I liked were the songs off her new album. She has a song that she wrote for her son in which she apologized for not being able to give him the storybook ending she hoped for. Powerful.
One of the other things about the show that was cool was she brought the little kids up on stage that were fans of Frozen up on stage to help sing Let it Go. So cute.
Well done Idina.
