Art in Bloom is now at the North Carolina Museum of Art. it is the 10th edition of the show. They use the artwork as inspiration for their floral arrangements. The event runs for five days and is a fundraiser to support programming in North Carolina, special exhibitions, and the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation.
This year’s event was themed Decades. It included 10 large installations portraying the decades. My two favorites were the 1990s and the 1950s. The attention to detail in the 50s was amazing. The ashtray, telephone, and eyeglasses were so cute.
They also have specialty cocktails to enjoy so be sure to swing by and grab a drink before or after viewing the exhibit. I enjoyed the Elderflower Grapefruit Cocktail. Cheers to 10 years of Art in Bloom and here’s to the next ten.
