Did you know that July 20 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing?
You can discover this and other fun facts at the North Carolina History Museum’s new exhibit- One Giant Leap, North Carolina and the Space Race. They highlight North Carolinians contributions to the space race.
Know before you go: It is a lobby exhibit so you will be able to check out some other exhibits while you are there. It is free but you can always leave a donation and show some love.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 20 from 11am – 4pm as they commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s landing! They will have crafts, demostrations, and activities—including a virtual reality lab where you can “travel” to space and “be” the first person on the Moon; and a bungee-jumping station where you, too, can experience weightlessness, like real astronauts.
Sounds like a blast! The exhibit will be around until January so make sure to catch it before the end of the year.
