The Beast – Paris

We landed in Paris this morning and started to get acquainted with a city known for beautiful buildings, amazing monuments, and food second to none. We had watched I’ll Have What Phil’s Having before we left and while this restaurant wasn’t featured it did give us the confidence to try unique and off-beat places in the city. When ClaireBMc shared that there was a BBQ place not far from us we had to try it out.

After walking roughly 2Km we found The Beast and with no preconceived ideas of what to expect we took a risk. Being from the best place to get pork BBQ (North Carolina) and have been several times to the best place to get brisket (Texas) we felt like we would be good judges of what they had to offer across the pond.

We weren’t disappointed. From the light smoke flavor to the slightly spicy but sweet sauce The Beast did an excellent job on both the pork and the brisket. I was impressed with the burnt ends in the pork that showed a great rub and great cooking technique. Overall I was very impressed. The Beast far exceeded my expectations and could hold its own in either North Carolina or Texas while the style didn’t fit either exactly.

If you are looking for a break from the croissants and start to crave smoked meat while in Paris. Head to The Beast and enjoy it. The staff is extremely nice and offered us a bourbon shot at the end of our meal. All we can say is “La viande fumée à Paris est excellente!”
