Travis stopped in for the holiday weekend from Dallas, TX and we decided to take a break from the usual in Raleigh to visit Durham. In our afternoon there we were able to hit Monuts Donuts, Dame’s Chicken & Waffles and Fullsteam Brewing. The food and beer were excellent and despite reputation that proceeds the “dirty” it really wasn’t that bad. Maybe next time we’ll do a little more research and spend some more time in the Bull City. Just a tip – if you plan on eating at Dame’s – make a reservation or skip it. The food is good but not an hour and a half wait good for the novelty. I’m an adult and can put syrup on my fried chicken any day of the week so while the meal was good it wasn’t worth the wait for the table.
Glad Travis was able to come up for the weekend and hope that he is able to do it again soon.
