The Best of 2014 – Part 2

7. Williamsburg & Virginia Beach
King Neptune
We had an awesome long weekend touring Historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Great food – oysters, bourbon, chocolate and a colonial pig pickin’ and a visit to see King Neptune and the Virginia Aquarium. It was a quick trip but it was a lot of fun and the food was excellent. May have to check out the 2015 Taste the Tradition event.

6. World of Bluegrass #WOB14

Last year this event came in at #3 and it remains on the ‘Best of’ list at #6 this year. We went from the red carpet where we asked “What is the best thing about playing BLUEGRASS in Raleigh, NC?” to the main event a two-day show with Sierra Hull, Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, the “Wide Open Jam” with Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Bryan Sutton, and Stuart Duncan, Della Mae, Noam Pikelny & Stuart Duncan, Del McCoury Band and Keller Williams, and for the finale Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby with Kentucky Thunder.

This is a great annual event.

5. Dallas / Fort Worth / Cupcake ATM
Fort Worth, Katy Trail, Good 2 Go Taco, The Perot Museum, Klyde Warren Park, the Nasher, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and of course the infamous Cupcake ATM. This was an awesome trip and on top of the fun stops we got to hang out with Travis and Claire.
