This was a great year with so many things going on that trying to create a “Best of”was difficult at best. Here we go with the top ten from a really fun year.
10. NCAA Tournament
We were there for the Mercer Miracle that bumped Duke in the second round. The NCAA Tournament is one of the greatest events in sports and games like this are why. Definitely something we’ve done before but always fun and better when you see one of the most exciting games of the tournament.
9. Concerts
This was a great year for shows and we saw Nickel Creek, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Lionel Ritchie, Def Leppard and KISS. We had great seats for some and better than average seats for others. All terrific shows – hopefully we’ll have as much luck in 2015.
8. U.S. Open
In 2014, Pinehurst has the honor of hosting both the 2014 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships. It will mark the first time in history that both tournaments will be played in the same year, on the same course. When complete, Pinehurst No. 2 will become the only site to have hosted all five USGA Championships.
We were lucky enough to go one of the Men’s practice rounds and the final round for the Women’s. During the practice round we got to take some pics but in the final? Not allowed. That was unfortunate but it didn’t take anything away from the experience.
